No. Nags Head Pier holds a Blanket Coastal Recreational Fishing License that covers every paying angler on the pier. Just purchase your pier pass at the tackle shop when you arrive and you're set to fish.

Day passes start at $16 for adults, $8 for kids 15 & under. We also offer multi-day, weekly, and season passes. Check our rates page for current prices.

Yes. You can grab a bite at one of our restaurants for a short stroll or to grab a drink or ice cream on the pier. You may also purchase a sightseeing pass for $2 and lets you walk the full length of the pier.

Yes to both. The tackle shop at the pier entrance has rod rentals, bait, rigs, lures, ice, sunscreen, and pier essentials. Our staff can also tell you what's biting and what rig to use.

It depends on the season. Spring and fall bring drum, bluefish and Spanish mackerel. Summer is prime time for spot, croaker, sea mullet, flounder and the occasional king mackerel from the end of the pier. Sheepshead hang around the pilings. Check our our fishing season chart to learn more.

Yes. There's a cleaning station at the base of the pier near the tackle shop. Please clean up after yourself.

Yes. Soft and hard coolers are both fine on the pier, but we do not permit outside food or beverages. Food and beverages are available for purchase at the Pier House Cafe, Off the Hook Beach Bar and Beaches & Cream.

Alcoholic beverages may be purchased at Off the Hook Beach Bar for guests 21 and over. Outside alcohol is strictly prohibited.

Leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome on the start of the pier deck away from the anglers. Dogs are not permitted at end of the pier where anglers actively fish as it presents a risk to the dog’s safety. Please clean up after your pets.

Yes. Day passes for kids under 15 are $8. All children must be attended by an adult and under adult supervision at all times.

The pier deck is reached by ramp or stairs, and is ADA accessible for the full length. Accessible restrooms are available at the base of the pier.

Yes. Enjoy 2 hours of complimentary parking with a pier pass or a visit to Pier House Cafe, Off the Hook Beach Bar, or Beaches & Cream. Parking beyond 2 hours is charged hourly fee. The lot isn't available for public beach access, and vehicles parked without a valid pass or visit may be booted or towed. There is an onsite parking attendant who monitors the lot.

Restrooms are available for pier patrons and are located at the start of the pier. Restrooms are not available for public use.

Pier passes are non-refundable, but if we close the pier due to lightning, high seas, or hurricane conditions, we'll honor your unused pass on a future visit. Keep your receipt and get a stamp from the tackle shop.

During the season, we are walk-in only and seat guests on a first-come, first-served basis. We take reservations during off-season hours.

Yes. Our indoor dining room is directly on the beach with spectacular ocean views. Off the Hook Beach Bar also offers outdoor dining directly on the pier.

We will do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions requests, just let your server know. Because we handle shellfish and other allergens in our kitchen, we can't guarantee a fully allergen-free environment.
